This is a Sunrise Panorama (3 images @ 150mm) along the Wildlife Drive at J.N. Ding Darling National Wildlife Refuge. This spot is just a little before where I was photographing the Reddish Egret in the previous post. We got there early to get the sunrise and to be set up for when the birds start to fly in and gather in the water and on the sand dune area.
Camera setup waiting for birds to fly in. 400mm DO f/4 lens with 1.4x teleconverter and 1.3x crop camera body (effective FF equivalent 728mm)

As we were driving along the Wildlife Drive at the Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge, we were enjoying the colorful morning sky. I liked this tree silo’d against the colorful morning sky, so I took a few shots and then moved on to see what other photo opportunities could be found.

When we go to the Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge, it takes about 3 1/2 hours, so it is hard to get there sometimes before sunrise. So on this day we got there before sunrise so we had time to scout a good location. Shot at 17mm before the sun broke the horizon. I liked the cool colors before the sun rose above the horizon. Below is the sun slightly breaking above the horizon @24mm. Blackwater also has spectacular sunsets, being close to the coast.
