Here are some Autumn leaf images taken a few years ago. So far this season, here in NJ, the leaves are not very colorful. So while I am waiting I thought I would post these. The featured image was taken @f/11 with a 400mm f/4 DO lens with a 1.4x teleconverter. The leaf was floating in a small lake at sunrise. Images below were along the the walking paths at the Celery Farm Natural Area in Allendale, NJ.
The first image is brilliant, especially with the color of the water and the soft framing. The mirror image of the leaf stem is reminiscent of the antennae of an insect.
Thanks Hans! And yes, now that you mentioned it, it does look like an insect antenna!
Fine series, Reed! I particularly like the muted colours in the third image.
Thanks Belinda! Fall leaves are fun photo subjects!
Lovely images, Reed – I esp. like the floating leaf!
Thanks Eliza! That was my favorite image in the series!
I’m in New Jersey too. Fall is not all here yet but the sassafras tree in my backyard has turned yellow, orange and red.
These are stunning image.
Thanks Khurt! We are starting to see a little more color now in Middlesex County. I used to live in Bergen county which seemed to have brighter colors earlier!
Ha! I’m in Montgomery Township on the border with Princeton. We’re not too far apart.
October is here!!! My favorite month. Great photos to start off autumn. William
Thanks William! Can not wait for more Fall colors!
That first image is great!!!
Thanks! It is fun to see what interesting subjects you can find to photograph!
Creative shots, Reed, nice!
Thanks Donna! Just going through old files cleaning up hard drives!
That first shot is brilliant, Reed. I have wanted to do something similar but the water is never as beautifully still as you found for that. A winner in my book. The others are nice too but that one, yeah!
Thanks so much Steve! It was from a local Nature Area where I used to live. It had a small lake which was extremely still on this morning!
