When we were photographing the Otters at Lake Woodruff NWR, this Great Egret flew in by the Otters. I liked the sunlight highlighting the feathers in the wing as it was landing. I was using a Canon R with a 300mm lens. The Canon R holds the highlight details much better than my other Canon cameras and has better shadow detail also.
The wings are opaque windows!
Yes! They are fun to photograph! It was sort of a “grab” shot because it flew in so suddenly while I was photographing otters swimming!
Excellent photo, Reed!
Thanks Belinda! It was a great photo trip there!
Beautiful bird well captured, Reed. Love the backlit wings.
Thanks Steve! You never know what might fly in when you are photographing something else! It helped it was a big target!
Fabulous capture, Reed!!
Thanks Donna! It was a fun photo trip! From birds to landscapes, lots of subjects to photograph!
Beautiful shot. Love how the action moves through the photo. William
Thanks William! I was photographing otters and it just flew in and I was lucky to get a shot of it. The Canon R is a little slower focusing on a moving bird. But the R produces beautiful & clean files!
