When I was photographing ice years ago I tried using a circular polarizer filter to pull out more detail in the clear ice. I was surprised when I also got rainbow colors in the ice. Thought it was interesting and added interest to the clear ice.

Cool. I’ve seen this a few times when the ice is crystal clear and the light is hitting the ice at just the right angle, like a prism. Nice catch, Reed.
