When we were at Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge we saw fewer Bald Eagles than we usually see this time of year. This one was just on the shoreline across from us. I was using a 400mm lens with a 2x teleconverter and even with that I had to crop in quite a bit. But it was still fun to see and photograph them.
Beautifully captured, Reed! Always a great day seeing and photographing Eagles!
I agree!!! It is also fun to see them interacting with Ospreys, trying to steal their catch. A few years ago there was a Golden Eagle there for a while. Only saw it once when we were driving out of the Refuge to leave. It flew out of a tree right in front of us and it was amazing to see and it was a very large Eagle!
WOW, fantastic, I am still wishing to see a Golden Eagle! One is residing around Pickering Creek Audubon Center in Easton, MD, this winter, returning from last year. I’ve gone once in search of it, but I didn’t see it.
