I usually do not get an Osprey flyby, low over the water in a side view. I liked how it’s wing tips reflect in the water. It had just come out of the water before this, then flew right across where I was setup with an 800mm lens. Usually they seem to fly away from my position. Once in a while you get lucky.

Awesome shot, Reed. I love the way that you were able to capture the wing at full extension, which gives us a wonderful look at the feathers (and, of course, the reflection is a great bonus).
Thanks Mike! I have a series but liked this one best!
You got lucky indeed, and you did well in taking advantage of it. What shutter speed did you use?
Thanks Steve! When I get back home I will look up the meta data and post it!
Wow!
Thanks! It was a fun day!
The extended wing, it’s colour and detail just beautiful!
Thank you! I will post more from this series!
Perfect!
Thanks! It was a fun day and with nice light!
Great flight capture!
Thanks! I have to post other images from this sequence. I was setup with an 800mm lens photographing Egrets when the Osprey flew right by me.
