Going through my files and found these images of Mute Swans taken at the Edwin B. Forsythe NWR, Brigantine Division in Oceanville, NJ. This is one of my favorite locations to photograph birds. From shore birds, to wadding birds, to raptors it has a diverse amount of photo subjects for you to look for. Plus there are great subjects in every season.
Gorgeous photos!
Thank You! I like photographing Swans. They are BIG subjects and have interesting ways they move & interact together. If you ever have been close to a dozen or more flying low overhead, the sound of their wings is amazing! One year I was photographing a Swan nest close to shore, closeup, so I was able to photograph their eggs hatching and the cygnets interacting with the Mom. Then to see them on the mothers back as the parents swam around the lake was interesting. Unfortunately, over time, snapping turtles got most of them.
